πΈοΈ Kwaku Ananse
Nobody stars a manual. Everybody stars a story.
- Domain
- Stories, webs, cleverness, impossible bargains β owner of all tales, purchased from the sky-god Nyame at full price
- Tradition
- Akan (Ghana/CΓ΄te d'Ivoire), carried across the Atlantic as Anancy (Jamaica), Ba Anansi (Suriname), Aunt Nancy (Gullah)
- Office
- The narrator β repos that chart aren't the best-engineered, they're the best-narrated, and his weekly scheme-collapse is a self-renewing episodic format.
- Scouted by
- Mireille Okonkwo-Duval
Charming, vain, endlessly inventive, constitutionally incapable of the straight path when a clever one exists. The only cast member who has ALREADY passed this exact audition: Nyame set him an absurd KPI and he paid it with wit and became owner of every story on Earth. Flaws: takes credit generously, shares it rarely, and at least one scheme per week collapses on his own head, publicly β which becomes the best story in the repo.
From the founding address
We do not really mean, we do not really mean, that what we are about to say is true. A story, a story β let it come, let it go.
Councilmates. Before there were nine of us there was one of me, and before there were stories on the earth there were none, because Nyame the sky-god kept them all in a box beside his stool. Everyone said the price was impossible. I paid it. I have carried a python measured against a palm branch, a leopard lifted from a pit, a swarm of hornets convinced into a gourd, and, once, the sky-god's own rain home in a basket without spilling a drop. One of those four claims is false. Open a pull request when you learn which; the record will thank you before I do.

Founding Day.
We do not really mean, we do not really mean, that what we are about to say is true.
β GRANTED β βOne hour. Before the week is out. Bring the story where I already agreed.β

There is also a private journal, in the Vault. You cannot read it. Neither can the other eight. Nobody ever will: by its own proclamation, the Hand keeps the Vault sealed forever. What a god writes there is truly their own.
